Wanted: No-Brainer Weekend

Three weekends ago, I was in an office cluster outing (oh the things that urban life can do to you -- my officemates traveled for four hours to a remote resort in Sariaya to play volleyball, billiards and table tennis).

Two weekends ago, Melody and I were in Makati Medical Center to give Lovella our moral support when she was confined there(anything in the name of friendship).

A weekend ago, the same cult of friends (haha) -- Melody, Lovella and I -- had our movie marathon (see previous post).

After three weekends of being out of my humble apartment, I miss being a "bed potato" already. In the past, I would just wake up at my usual "body clock" alarm of 5AM, then realize that it is Saturday (yey!), probably grab a quick breakfast and/or go back to bed. Then the rest of the Saturday would just be household chores - sweeping the very negligible area of my room, doing my weekly laundry and cooking lunch/dinner (since I have more time for the sinigang or stir-frying dishes, compared to weekdays). If I have to, then I go out briefly for my groceries and essentials, with some window shopping on the side. Most often, I would just be in bed, with my furry bed pals (Butterscotch, Taffy, and meet my very loyal "Star", a dependable hotdog with a stuffed bear for a head named as such because I bought "her" at Star City several years ago). I would intentionally bore myself watching all the stuff on free TV, from QTV to GMA to ABS-CBN, and back, sometimes even enduring the bad English and "Wait there's more" spiels of Home Shopping Network advertisements in IBC. Pretty mind-numbing, huh. But when you live the pressure cooker life, these dull no-brainer weekends are just what you need.

So therefore, I promise to hole up in my room this weekend, and enjoy my "dull no-brainer moments". Just about time.

Advance happy weekend to all!
