Your Eyes Don't Lie

Hello loves! This is officially my first blog post in 2014!

The first two work-weeks had been really crazy, in meaningful and fulfilling ways.

As I start off these first few hours of Sunday, I thought of posting my favorite shots --- the ones I usually take whenever I go home to my dear beloved hometown of Iloilo. My long-time friends and even the newfound ones who took careful notice will expect the "expected" --- doggie pictures, ofcourse !!!

Some bits of realization before we start...
Since the strange twists of Destiny have led me back to consulting and advisory work, the year 2013 has taught me a lot about people. First, that you don't believe everything you read about or hear from them. Second, that what one person says may not necessarily be what he means. Hmmmm, seems like 2013 was a heck of a year for me, right? These two lessons somehow tell me that I should be skeptical of people and a lot of things --- what I see may not be really what I'll get, and I should probably listen more to my feminine intuition --- work-wise (just like most auditors and consultants) and even in my personal life, that is. On hindsight, one person (or even you to your own self) can pitch a different story to make you believe one thing. But the eyes are the windows to the soul. A cliche, yes, but it could probably save your life. When in doubt, look into that person's eyes and read it there. The eyes don't lie, right? And this, my dears, is the theme of my doggie pics below. :)

To make me smile (and hopefully my dog-lover friends, too), here are my takes (some in hana deka mode) from my point-and-shoot camera.

Praying for more love, love, love and warmth in this chilly weather and crossing fingers that we may find that unconditional one like our dogs' love to us. But well, if we can't find it, we can always give love away...*winks*

A blessed 2014 to all of us all !

Our eldest dog --- good ol' Love
He was my Papa's dog and stayed with his master's side until Papa passed away back in 2004.
Aside from unconditional love and honesty, dogs teach us loyalty in a way that puts the so-called devotion of long-distance or silver-anniversary relationships to shame.
Faith, the only girl
Very shy and keeps to herself in her own little nook...which I can understand.
What will you do if you're stuck with seven males, right?
There's no such thing as "one of the boys" in the
doggie world, I guess.
Hope: my favorite subject, always.
I'm biased, I know. But I think, I already prepared him for this long long time ago when I took his first "
selfie" (in 2007 before the "selfie" generation). At that time, he was only just months old, and probably the "photogenic" pose and good posture stuck :)

Tiger, the quiet "suplado"
(sorry, tried editing the red eye, but couldn't)
Intimidating but actually shy in person

Shakespeare, the special dog
He has
ADHD, separation anxiety and all the works. And he loves me to bits. It's mutual :)
P.S. I don't think I will ever understand what is it with dogs and the arms of sofa and chairs?
Hahaha
With dogs, all shots are candid
(so you just keep on shooting and shooting 'til you're done:)
L-R: Richy, my Mama and Smile
Smile shows potential to outdo his father Richy in the "handsome" category.

Smile
I like this shot --- innocent little thing :)

Sunlight, the cutest
He's irresistible even if he "loves" to bark at me every time I emerge from somewhere.
I think that's his invitation to play?
Hahaha
Smile again
Too many pictures with Smile in it.
But I can't resist this one. Clean-cut handsome, anyone?
The family picture :) L-R clockwise: Faith, Sunlight, Richy (not looking at the camera), my Mama, Smile and Shakespeare

 Dog hugs and kisses! Mwah!
