Delectables: From Wee Nam Kee to UCC Cafe

The trio --- Mel, Vel and I --- missed each other again and flagged October 15, a holiday, as our meet-up date.

Between Bacolod Chicken Inasal and Wee Nam Kee, Vel picked the latter. Yay, for a change! We are eating Singaporean as a trio.

The Wee Nam Kee Glorietta branch is quite a challenge to find for the newbies. It's located at the outer layout of Glorietta but is still part of the building. I prefer it there than its Ayala Triangle branch because it's less crowded (probably because its location is still "undiscovered"). For three years in a row now, Wee Nam Kee has been voted as the No. 1 chicken rice concept in Singapore.

Our orders:
    • Vel and I ordered the trademark Hainanese Chicken Rice (steamed, personal set) matched with the Beef with Broccoli in Oyster Sauce
    • Mel ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup. When I was sick and wanted nothing but soup, we tried this by accident and liked it.

Pick your condiments: pounded ginger, chili sauce, and dark soya sauce. Don't worry; there is no one right way of mixing your condiments. It's all a matter of preference. In my case, I usually leave out the chili.

The soup is not your usual freebie at the cafeteria.
I love the interiors: the focal point wall paper, the no-nonsense furnitures and framed pictures on the wall.
It's relaxing in this side of Glorietta --- away from the sight of busy shoppers.
The best friends, Lovella and Melody, enjoying their meals.
I wonder why do I look "healthier" in some photos (not skinny).
I guess you indeed gain pounds on camera and it pays to have a great HD loose powder to get away with no makeup, hahaha.

It was a filling lunch and the great ambiance allowed us to privately catch up on new tidbits of each others' lives. I'm still yearning to try Wee Nam Kee's premium yellow chicken and chili crabs. Will definitely come back.

After lunch, coffee break requires a separate venue. We passed by JCo but it was too crowded. Thus, we decided to find the old hangout --- UCC.

Our bonding times at UCC have usually been made interesting by those picture-perfect drinks we order. I mean, other than that, this would just be like any other cafe made up of mugs and coffee beans. But UCC goes the extra mile of making their shakes, drinks and mixed fruits "photogenic". LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)
