Compassion and Responsibility for Animals. That is CARA Welfare Philippines's tag line.
CARA Welfare Philippines is a non-profit non-government organization founded in 2000. I read their mission and vision statements in their website (http://www.caraphil.org --- Please check this out on how you can adopt or sponsor a pet, or even volunteer as a CARA member). I believe that this one sums up best their advocacy: "Promote compassion for animals and responsible pet ownership".
When I was walking in Greenbelt last Saturday, I saw the CARA booth and this adorable dog. I patted its head and looked on longingly. Big round pleading eyes, curious nose sniffing my flats, long ears and brown fur! I'm in love immediately. I wish I could adopt. But I am not qualified - considering where I live and my work demands. I sincerely hope this fella finds a good home.
