My best friend, Lovella and I decided to spend the June 12 holiday afternoon at Soi.
Eat Thai. Love Thai.
The resto is located at the New Glorietta.

Thanks to the strategically placed mirrors, the place didn't feel crowded even when it eventually got filled with diners |

I will probably try the warm soup of Sukothai next time. I read that this is supposed to have healing powers. |

I've been craving for Pad Thai for probably three weeks. Presentation wise, the Soi version is a dream --- the egg "net" trapping the noodles. This one quieted my craving although I wished there were more prawns... I expected the noodles to be the sticky, chewy one that I remember from Thailand but this one didn't have it. It is not too filling so there's no guilt after finishing the plate with Vel :) |

Chicken Satay: Perfectly grilled with an interesting not-too-spicy sauce (right) We asked for the recommended partner to the Pad Thai and we got this. Another healthy treat. |

These lighting fixtures give an old world feel Conclusion: No need to travel to Bangkok to get a taste of Thai dishes. I learned that Soi, a part of the Cabalen group (hmmm, no wonder), imports majority of its ingredients directly from Thailand.
Post Notes: I will try more spicy dishes the next time I crave for something Thai :) |
