I finished my first 1/3. So I guess, it's time for my two cents.

What could go wrong?
As with most handmade soaps, there is a risk of melting that precious bar into a semi-solid body wash in a matter of days (I know 'cause I made these soaps back in high school :). To help prolong their short life spans, we should do everything to keep these babies from too much heat and too much moisture. I cut my bar into three portions and kept the unused ones inside a resealable plastic, stored safely in my cabinet. I also made sure that the portion that I am using is kept in a soap dish while it hibernates inside my bathroom after THE bath :)

Taking note of the "dry skin after use" warnings from the product reviews, I still use my AHAVA velvet cream wash in orange and frangipani (Please read review here). The "Dead Sea" ingredients of this wash keeps me moisturized after my skin absorbed all the kojic and glutathione.

Regardless of whether my soap or wash has whitening intentions, I still apply sunblock as I'd usually do. Now, I'm using my shaken mix version of an All-Filipino sunblock --- about 2/3 of my Human Heart Nature Vanilla Healthy Lotion and 1/4 of Snoe 'Here Comes the Sunblock' with singkamas and arbutin (Please read review here).

Introductions: I have sensitive skin so I made sure to make a gradual introduction of Snoe bar into my bath regimen. For the first three days, I left the soap on my skin for less than a minute before rinsing and used a lot less on my arms (I thought that, if the worse allergies happen, I can still hide them if they're only on my legs). Over the next few days, I increased my application and followed the instructions to leave this on for two minutes (I sing a two-minute song to time myself; in case I felt that my timing is not exact, I always err on leaving it on for less time). Honestly, I didn't feel that slight tingling sensation (as indicated in the directions). Probably, my pain threshold is quite high now?

Out of scope: I decided that I will not use this on my face. I have stopped using soaps on my face a very long time ago and I trust that my facial wash and moisturizers are doing their job well.

My addendum: A lot has been said about Snoe beauty bars already. These are one of their best sellers, probably next to the Hair Heroes line (I also posted by two cents on a conditioner from this line). The thing is, I am not really interested in being Snow White fair; I'm fine being my own shade of morena, hehehe. I just wanted an even tone.

Did it work or not
I have little freckles on my elbows (How did I get freckles on elbows? I don't know). I'd often bump into table legs or chairs that I'd sometimes confuse my bruises with the dark patches I have on my legs and feet. --- Now change the "have" to "had". =)

After 1/3 of the bar:
- My little freckles on my elbows are gone, zilch. (I'm not even sure if they were freckles but they looked like they were.)
- My legs, especially the front facing portion, are not perfect and flawless...yet. The texture improved, that I can say for now. Perhaps, I'll give it two more thirds of the bar.
- The sun spots on the top parts of my feet have lightened and I think these are only a few tones away to match the rest.

I am quite satisfied with the "baby steps" that my Snoe bar is helping me take towards an even-toned skin. There is no shortcut to most of the good things in life and I am in no rush anyway.

When my AHAVA velvet cream wash runs out, I plan to use my Snoe bar alone, and probably try the other variants. Since my shaken version of the All-Filipino sunblock is moisturizing enough, I think I'll be fine without a body wash (otherwise, I might be looking for a good Filipino brand with moisturizing talents to rival AHAVA's).

I'm sending this over to Mama so she can try a Snoe bar herself.
The oatmeal bar is not edible ofcourse but it does smell delicious.
Everything is "mild" so I guess this is my best bet for my dear mom :)
My take-away: Whatever you do, take it slow and test really well before taking the final plunge.

Let's be more careful with the apples we try, Snow Whites. Bye for now! =)

Disclaimer: I am not a beauty blogger. I do not recommend or rate products per se. I only share my experiences while using them and the whole thought process behind getting, using, falling in love or hating the product. I leave the beauty blogging to the experts; in fact, I go back to their reviews from time to time though I may not necessarily agree with all of these --- What's good for her may not be necessarily good for me. I am a confessed novice in every way --- I only try to view each experience with "new eyes" and reflect some more on how beauty can be a gift that should be experienced rather than seen. So don't take my word for it --- What works for me may not necessarily work for you --- but go ahead and take that adventure! The risks we take do make our lives interesting. =)
