What happens if you bring someone who prefers "quiet shopping" to crazy elbow-your-way-around shopping destinations like Hongkong?
She goes home with a mini haul :)
Below is her shopping journey...
The HK and Macau maps which I never got to use 'cause everyone else in the group are direction-savvy (Thank God!) |
Tour guides will tell you to stop converting HK dollars to your country's currency so you'll have a great shopping experience. Yeah right, I say. I still can't help but convert. Sorry man, but we don't earn dollars so we have to live within the peso budget. |
Tadaa! My mini haul :) |
Please click "Read more" to see the stuff that made up my mini haul.

Got the Hongkong T-shirts. I guess, you can't leave a foreign country without getting their souvenir shirts. I don't collect them though. |
I got Bossini shirts for my uncle (advance Christmas shopping here). I was informed that you can buy this brand at cheaper prices in HK. Other brands to check out: Giordano and G2000 |
I didn't go crazy in Sasa. There are too many brands but my New Year's resolution kept reminding me to buy only the ones I need. I got mascara from Majolica Majorca (a bit cheaper than the PH price), my first try from the brand. |
For Mama - consumed the smallest space of the haul but ate up the biggest chunk of the budget, hahaha I love her much more than that. Christmas gift - check :) |
Goodies for the people back home |
These are the Husband and Wife cakes and some egg rolls. We tasted them first and got our top picks for the pasalubong. |
Another touristy thing (next to the T-shirts) Expect the photographer buddy of your tour guide to offer this souvenir plate to you after taking your pictures at the Avenue of the Stars. I wouldn't fall for this on any other day but the photographer (I think his name's Kevin) seemed like a nice, friendly chap so I gave in. We all did :) |
I gathered from google searches that Japanese cosmetic brands are cheaper in HK. I held back on replenishing my stocks when my HHN cleansing oil and Pond's cold cream ran out and waited for this HK-Macau trip. I got my Shu Uemura finds at the Duty Free Shop inside Macau's City of Dreams. |
These are the stuff that I collect. I got my bells from Macau and HK. Super yay! When I got these, I felt like I was done shopping, haha. While at Macau, I saw this beautiful blue doll (center) and couldn't resist it. Our tour guide, Vivien, saw me and said: "Beautiful, just like you." And you guessed it, I was sold. There it went with my Macau bell. I hand-carried this, like a precious fragile thing, till I got back in Manila. |
That's all dears. Just shared my humble mini haul with you. Till next shopping (most probably, the "quiet" one) ;)
